Google finally announce Chrome for Android but only 4.0
Ever wondered why the stock Android browser isn’t Chrome? We all certainly have, and now Google have gone and released Chrome Beta for Android. Over time it will become THE Android browser, but for now it is only available for devices running Ice Cream Sandwich. We will try it out when we get our hands on such a device, but for now we will read this review from TechCrunch and enjoy Chrome Beta on PC.
Nokia confirm white variant of Lumia 800
Nokia today confirmed that a white variant of the popular Lumia 800, our best gadget of 2011, will hit stores this month. The polycarbonate shell is glossy unlike the black, cyan and magenta versions and is internally identical to its pigmented siblings. The end result looks awesome, but I think I still prefer the cyan. Technophobia: PS3 vs. Xbox 360 and why I don’t care

Before I start this article, I’d just like to point out that I’m writing this from the point of view of a neutral. I don’t own a PS3 or an Xbox. I have a Wii.
Yes, a Wii. Shut up.
So now it is time to face the age old question: PS3 or Xbox 360?
Well no, it’s not. Because frankly, I couldn’t care less.
The truth is, Xbox owners will pick Xbox, and PS3 owners will pick PS3.
Sure, you might get the occasional Xbox owner who thinks a PS3 is better, or vice versa, but these people are few and far between. They are outliers in the gaming world.
In general, people want what they have to be better than others. And they probably won’t admit it if they think it isn’t true. That is a fact of life.
And the arguments that these people use just get tedious. They are always the same ones. A typical argument goes something like this:
‘Xbox Live is better than PlayStation Network Sony Entertainment Network.’
‘PS3 has a Blu-ray.’
‘Xbox is cheaper.’
‘So? It’s better.’
‘Xbox is more popular.’
‘And? PS3 has better graphics.’
‘No it doesn’t.’
‘Yes it does.’
‘No it doesn’t.’
‘It does. And what’s up with that stupid Xbox controller?’
That last point is fair enough. Seriously Microsoft, I want my thumbs level with each other. Not a hard concept.
I can hear you trolling already.
‘OMG ur so biased u deffo have a ps3 really!’
The 360 is better value for money though. There we go, impartiality is resumed.
So, er, yeah. These arguments are pointless. And stupid.

Today’s ridiculous story comes from Michael Arrington on PandoDaily, reporting that Apple have told developers to stop using images of white iPhones.
Steve Appleton, CEO of Micron, dies in plane crash
Steve Appleton, CEO of Micron Technology, died in a plane crash today at the age of 51. He was piloting a Lancair aircraft around Boise, Idaho when the incident occurred shortly after takeoff. He had worked at the company, best known for the Crucial and Lexar brands, since graduating from Boise State University in 1983. He became COO in 1991 before taking over 3 years later. He leaves behind his wife and 4 children.
Micron’s Board of Directors
We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Appleton, Micron Chairman and CEO, passed away this morning in a small plane accident in Boise. He was 51.
Our hearts go out to his wife, Dalynn, his children and his family during this tragic time.
Steve’s passion and energy left an indelible mark on Micron, the Idaho community and the technology industry at large.
The company expects to provide additional information later today.

A small Taiwanese company has tried to promote its new Action Pad tablet by getting an actor to portray Steve Jobs with wings and a halo. Disgusting.
Facebook IPO filing crashes the SEC website
Facebook has filed for its IPO, and crashed the website of the Securities and Exchange Commision. The filing explains that the site has over 483 million daily users and made a profit of $1bn last year. Madness? I think so. I would buy shares, but I’m not a multi-billionaire like Zuck.

RIM, continually failing, have released this infographic describing the users of their devices. If you are for some reason still using a RIM thing, which one are you?

Engadget pointed out that this sounds suspiciously like RIM itself, so we can only hope that with BB10 they will hire ad guys who are actually beyond adolescence.
The Poll: What should Facebook’s stock symbol be?
Facebook is expected to finally go public this week, with an expected IPO of up to $100,000,000,000. While this isn’t really news in itself, the imminence of the big day has led many people to ponder as to what the stock symbol of Zuckerberg’s baby will be. We have compiled a short list of likely candidates, but feel free to suggest your own in the poll below.
PS: FACE is already taken by Physicians Formula Holdings, Inc., but they are only valued at $40,818,000. If Zuckerberg wanted their symbol, he could just reach into his pocket and come out with a cosmetics company, so we aren’t ruling that out just yet.
